For those of you who don't read my Myspace blog ( I tend to post more there now - if you're on Myspace send me a friend request http://www.myspace.com/goneandromedaRead more... )
Wow. I am totally considering a change of career (away from graphics) also! Is it that the industry got retardedly flooded and there's not a lot of money to be made anymore? (rhetorical Q)
I am not a fan of myspace blogs, so I don't post in them, but I did just subscribe to your blog there so I will read and comment, but I will still remain here in LJ-land myself.
thanks for posting this in lj! (i almost never wander over to myspace, i just don't know enough people who blog there to remember it) i struggled a lot with the decision to go back to school this year, but now that i'm knee-deep in it, i'm really glad that i have. as someone whose degrees are all in similar and over-lapping fields (and will, unfortunately, continue to be for the next few years), i'd say that branching out and doing as many different things that interest you as possible is a better way to go. it opens you up to more fields and types of employment. for example, if you take either women's studies or sexuality, you might be able to get a job employing both your new degree and your graphics skills, working with a specialty publication (magazine, online journal, etc.) perhaps
