Mal swallows his mouthful of food finally, and at least has the decency to pause before adding, "Though I imagine that's why I still get dinner."

"No, you still get dinner because after I missed the whole thing makin' it, somebody's gonna eat it, and as you can see..."

She nods toward Simon's office. "The only other option's otherwise occupied."

Kaylee is taking refuge in being unsympathetic for the moment.
