This may sound like a stupid question, but why?

To become a better typist, and to better stay in touch with my flow of thought. Want propaganda?

Just seems like much hassle, learning a new system, that's all. I think you'll need lots of propaganda to convince me otherwise! =)

I have only written for like fifteen minutes put together, but I can already say it will be easier learning than qwerty-touch was. Still slow going, though.

I had QWERTY hard-wired into my brain in a boot-camp-like typing class. These days I actually think how a word is spelled by typing in the air. LOL

But the Dvorak looks amazingly sensible. Too bad we didn't learn that.

Repetitive exercises... that's the key to fluency, in typing. You could take some common words each day and do them over & over. Maybe find a program to test your speed.

Me too, I had a typing class at high school and have been the typing speed monster ever since, so this is a pretty enormous step for me. I am learning this sooo fast, though. And it doesn't make me forget the qwerty as I had feared either.

Oh awesome! I was afraid of that too, though still willing to give the Dvorak a try... now I will for sure, if I get a chance!

I don't know if I'd ever get used to a different keyboard set-up at this point. How are you finding it?

Surprisingly easy! Not that I'm used to it yet, but I don't think it will take me long to be up to my usual speed.

Uhm, gratz? So, is it any good? I know many who swear by it, but I do touch with qwerty pretty quick, so I'm not sure I'd benefit of switching.

It's good! Really good too. I even wonder if I might not be able to do nano using dvorak. Not counting on it, though.
