And they've always been pretty dumb, obviously.
Like "Only the woman I've been to for a nookie could have stolen my stuff!" - and it couldn't be some burglar which had just noticed I haven't been at my house for longer than usually, so he can have his chance...

I had a dogwalking client accuse me of stealing a bag of tumbled stones while I was in her place-semi-precious stones are a hobby of hers; it had to be me-she reasoned-because [she said] no one besides her and me had keys to her place.

It's been over a year, and I keep wondering when she's going to find them and breathe a sigh of relief. Of course I don't expect her to admit she's found them, but she will, or already has; one cardinal rule I have for myself since I started walking other people's dogs in 2003 is look, but don't touch. It's deeply offensive to me to be accused of theft, because I don't steal. Why shit on your own doorstep?

Other clients leave their jewelry and electronics around, and am I really going to implicate myself? I'm not going to even leave my prints on it. Some of them have the Nest cam, or Amazon Echo. (If this client had, she never could have accused me in the first place.) I mean, seriously.
