Sort of, but really a very old factor. We only need to go back to the 1950s to find unapologetic white supremacy in the US.
I don't mean to excuse it, but the periodicity of our protests against gun violence and police violence frustrate me, because then we don't do anything about it. Young people would rather protest than vote. And lots of white folks forget their equalitarian outrage when it comes time to vote -- instead voting their economic interests.
In a way, getting rid of the Jim Crow laws reminds me of "reopening" the economy. We opened society to black people in the 1960s, but that didn't mean the median black family did any better than before. White liberals in the US aren't willing to put their money where their mouths are -- they want to retain their economic superiority while giving token respect to minority elites.
I keep saying it, but nobody seems to digest it -- the median black family was no better off at the end of the Obama years than they were when the Voting Rights Act was passed in the 1960s.
I'll say this to you as evil as it is: That's what happens if you have a country that allows everyone to believe in and follow every random set of morals as much as he likes and to be able to act according to that even in his job.
oh bullshit. thats paranoia. hes gonna be voted out and thats it. this shit with the cops and the rioting happens in the US every couple of years its not new.
