We were discussing fungi in the pub the other week. Conclusion was that the mushroom is essentially the fungus's penis. It pops up with the sole purpose of spreading seeds and then withers away. The main body of the fungus is buried underground and we never get to see it.
I think it's the normalcy of the calm amidst the sea or the Loch in the Old Scottish ways turning its mourning Roe Sprout up an Orange one and watch the seaside grow . . .
