So I have to decide whether to commit to my job for another year. I like my job, but I want to move out of Madison and I can't really survive much longer on $10/hour. I don't have many friends here and I want to go someplace else. But I hate being unemployed. I'm tempted to go to Raleigh or out west, where I have friends, but I don't have a job. ( Read more... )

What about the month-to-month lease thing? Keep applying for jobs in cities you're interested in, and when you get one, move.

My editors want me either to leave now or commit to another year. I told them I would be willing to stay month to month at 10 bucks an hour - I can work it out with my landlord - but if they want me to make a professional commitment to them they will need to pay me a professional salary.

I'm free during the day Thursday if you want to catch a movie or something.

Sadly I've got to work all day. You free in the evening anytime in the next couple weeks?
