Today I went into New York to get my press pass. The media credentials area was on the second floor of the Pennsylvania Hotel, which is a nice place with excellent restrooms. There weren't that many police around midtown, at least not when I was there, although there was quite a Secret Service prescence. I picked up my pass at the Special Press ( Read more... )

I got confirmation - I'm going to the Republican convention and the preceding protests! I'll be getting more info on Thursday, and also purchasing my plane tickets. All I know now is that I've got to be in NY on Friday August 27th and will return for sure by the following Friday.
