Hello Professor, It's Anthony Goldstein, just writing to take you up on an offer you made to me some months ago about talking shop. I cannot pretend that time just stands still after all, and my apprenticeship will be up, this October, whether Calculus offers me his shop or cuts me loose is of secondary importance to how much I will have learned in that time. I would like to have something to show for it beyond what few mysteries that my master has seen fit to reveal to me. I have no wish for you to divulge your secrets (though I do confess a giddy thrill at the very idea) I do think that if I am not to be taught these things then I must go behind his back and find out for myself.
if it would be possible for you to arrange a meeting sometime in the coming weeks I would greatly appreciate it.
~ Anthony.
