A Trip around the Province

In the fall and again in the spring, the local educational and Culture Department has to visit other communities in the province to assess the knowledge of the students and their teachers. Is that "delicious" "airag", or is it actually good? I can't imagine fermented milk being a tasty beverage, but I guess when you say "fermented grape juice" that also doesn't sound all that tasty, so maybe it's just the word "fermented" that bothers me.

I prefer wine, but airag falls somewhere between yogurt and beer. I mean, the taste is between those two. Also, I like it less than yogurt and more than beer. Except beer is more predictable, whereas airag seems to vary wildly. And usually I actually like yogurt better than wine.
That's all clear, right?
To be honest, the airag was very good. But I never would think to myself, "Fermented milk, that's what I really need right now." Mostly I drink a lot of tea here. The tea also has a strong dairy component (and salt, traditionally).
