<3 the Lynch! Although, I had a difficult time watching his material initially as it was rather triggering. He was the first director to really portray the sensations of dissociation and identity shifting associated with trauma in a manner I could relate to and recognize. Twin Peaks and Wild at Heart are prime examples which also spring to mind.

Of course, Hitchcock did a fairly good job of portraying PTSD triggers in Spellbound, with help from Salvador Dali on sets and images. If only the cure were as easy as it was portrayed for Gregory Peck's character! Magic wand effect, anyone?

In any case, Lynch seems to have mastered this art.
