I've been looking at photos instead of doing my much needed studying and in the family ones I just keep thinking, why do people continue to give my little brother swords to play with?
Your brother is about the age of my brother, right? 9 or so?
..... my little brother got a chain saw to play with. (well, not play with, but use to chop up apple trees into firewood with the other brother + dad.) and uh.... mom says he's not allowed to use chainsaws anymore, because it slipped (!) and ate chunk out of his leg. (3-4 days ago.) (I asked if he had to go and get stiches and mom said, oh, no, there's nothing there to sew back together... so i guess it really was just a chunk.) (but mom says he's fine.)
Ow! These are plastic swords. It's just in every set of pictures there's one where he's jumped in front of the camera, waving a sword around. And it's always a different sword. He thinks he's a ninja. He has a little stockpile in his playhouse of toy swords and squirt guns. There's always some movie out and then they make a replica sword and then everyone forgets about the movie and the sword becomes a dollar at Toys R Us. Then Tristan gets a new sword. I wasn't aloud to have toy weapons when I was little. They promoted violence aparently. One time I got a nerf gun and I had to give it away.
Chainsaws are scary. When I was little (and lived in the sticks) my neighbor (i.e. closest house) was cutting up a tree with a chainsaw while he was in the tree and he fell and then his wife ran out to help him and tripped and broke her ankle. They were both eventually ok, though.
I don't think I've ever used a chainsaw. I've used a regular saw, although I haven't big much a fan since that whole getting stabbed in the back incident. One time they let me use a sledge hammer to knock out a wall, but I ended up electrocuting myself. Damn, maybe I shouldn't have tools either...
