Okay, I wrote this entry this morning in a fit of anger and just made it private because I didn't think anyone would be reading it anyway (its ridiculously long), and honestly I didn't want to piss anyone off with my sweeping generalizations. This is all very obvious stuff that's been said time and time again by almost everyone, but its just been ( Read more... )

the acrynom (wtf) LES is really
really lame. if i go to nyc and
they're calling LOWER EAST SIDE that,
i'll go insane.

you know, i liked reading your vent.
it was enlightening and i realised
a lot of the stuff you pointed out.

i usually feel really retarded for
talking about shows and music and keeping
a livejournal and i feel hypocritical all the time.
but at least i know i'm not going to urban outfitters
to look trendy and that i still use a cassette player.
so, whatever.

but yes, i liked reading that. :)

i'm glad you enjoyed reading it!
i feel the same way, and agree its reassuring when you know you like something more for simple enjoyment rather than putting so much intention into it.
i was on cassettes for the longest time! i would be still, if my cassette player didn't need tape to hold itself together. i have so many cassettes i haven't heard in years :(

i feel that it's a misnomer to call those people 'yuppies.'

have you seen american psycho? i don't think he would have listened to franz ferdinand if he was real and in our time.

right, i guess the type of person typically considered a "yuppie" (a la american psycho) probably doesn't bother with franz ferdinand, etc. but i'm specifically thinking a lot of people i know of, who are pretty much fresh out of college, holding pretty good jobs, and spending a lot of money, because they can, on keeping up with shows and bars and all that. granted, if you're lucky enough to have money, spend it, but i feel like they're pushing out younger, less advantaged people.
