Hook, drinking [open: please read OOC note before joining]

*For the next few days, the captain will be found in his Nexus room: or sometimes in his cabin aboard ship, or in extreme cases out on deck.

Wherever he is found, it is safe to say he will be in one of three stages.

1. Getting drunk.
2. Being drunk.
3. Unconscious.

Variations on this theme are not unlikely.*

And for your delectation... )

Ali knows he's drinking.

This takes no fancy magic or mindreading on her part. She just knows him. She also knows why he's drinking, and could probably guess what he's drinking and how little food's gone along with it.

So is it any surprise she's going to show up with a basket of good food? All the things she knows he likes and that can usually tempt him, like olives stuffed with sausage and then fried, or lemon chicken.

And no, she's not knocking.

*It was a fairly safe bet for anyone who knows him. His Nexus door is unlocked: the Nexus room itself, empty. Prometheus the tarantula peers up at Ali curiously as she enters. The little door to the ship is open a crack, and sunlight is spilling through it: voices, or rather a single voice and some accompanying murmur, can be heard through it.*

Ali sighs, relieved that at least on the ship somebody's likely to find him before he drinks himself to death. But then, that will have its own set of problems.

At least Prometheus seems happy to see her? Or maybe he just loves her for the cricket she gives him. "Don't worry Prometheus, he'll be okay. You know how he gets."

Spiders reassured (always an important step in this process), Ali nudges the little door open enough to see into the cabin. She isn't sure if Jas is alone and talking to himself, or if someone's there with him.

*Prometheus is glad to see her. He's not purely motivated by crickets. He associates her with good things, it's true, but he also remembers her, a rare thing with spiders.

The louder voice belongs to the Celtic-gruff Mr Bywater, and as Ali peeks around the inner door, he is saying: "Come on, sir...that's the way...let's get you sat down, eh?"

The murmur, lower and less distinct, is Hook. Bywater is half-carrying the captain into his cabin and setting him down in the desk chair with every sign of solicitous worry. Hook drags at his side, feet just about under him, neck of a green bottle just about gripped in his hand.

Bywater settles him, removes the bottle tactfully (Hook snarls, curling his lip, eyes closed) then retreats onto deck, shutting the outer door behind him and by the sounds of it, taking up guard just outside.*
