This morning as I was enjoying my morning news while reading the Province, I gasped in pure disbelief. One of the problems with the justice system is that we take people (not all of the criminals are like this of course) who have FASD or other mental disabilities, and put them in jail, and then just chuck them back out onto the street when they've served their time. We set them up to fail. My boss is currently trying to get a home set up to send youths who have offended to so that they can live in a structured, supervised environment, and actually get some *help* as opposed to just being thrown in jail.
I agree with you- our justice system needs to be reevaluated. *nods*

I agree. I believe we need education and prevention and also, due to not having the previous already instituted, we need harm reduction and rehabilitation. This will hopefully help - it can not make things worse, right?
