Hi. chinamanstu September 28 2005, 19:08:15 UTC
Thanks for your comments in RVA.

I was hoping that someone could do an investigative story on VITA (Virginia Information Technology Agency.) They talk a good game but when it comes to the Employees side of things, they are all about putting money in their pockets. Basicly speaking, they are selling out lots of state employees to a contractor for a big pay off, however they are wasting so much tax payer money now that it isn't funny.

Basicly, this agency is wasting our money, selling out employees with 15-20 years of state service to loose all of their benefits, retirement, etc... just so the big boys can get the pay off. When they have Conferences, magically the teleconference machines don't work so the employees can voice their opinions.... but hey, we are supposed to be the best in technology that VA has to offer.

Sorry about the ranting.

I'm sorry that it's taken me so long to get back to you. Can you believe that I couldn't find this post for a week? :)

I defintely think you have a story here, and you should talk to the T-D's projects team. Contact Michael Martz, because he's done the most writing and digging about state agencies. He's also a really great guy and a talented journalist. Feel free to tell him that Lea sent you.
