I love the show and sometimes the writers get things right and sometimes they get it totally wrong and the problem is you can never ever tell when something will work. For example, I thought Infamous (which I thought I'd hate but wound up liking) was going to lead us into a terrific finale (oops).

But yes, I'm starting to think I should go spoiler free from now on - they certainly aren't making me very happy lately.

Actually, this is quite true. I agree. This show is so unpredictable in that sense.

Heh! You know, he's had his moments - sparingly so, but overall? Man, did SV fuck up his characterization, big time.

I wish I could go unspoiled. I really do. But I can't. I need to be prepared for shit like this and if it turns out not to be as bad as it looks, then I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I think it was around S6, or early S7 when I started to wean myself off spoilers a bit. Right around the time where my overall enjoyment of the show took a bit of a dip, basically. I figured if the eps were going to aggravate me anyways, I might as well just limit it to that, and not let it spill over beforehand via spoilers too.

But then hiatuses are difficult, so inevitably I end up spoiling myself for the first half of the season regardless. Even now, I'm spoiled up to ep 9 I think.

Either way, anything beyond that, the 2nd half, I think I'll just steer clear from.

Well, I'm going to start off by saying that spoilers often turn out to be misleading, or we misinterpret them and anticipate things that never come to pass, so even though I read them all, for the most part I try to reserve judgment until I see the episodes ( ... )

Weren't the Clois scenes of the Comic-Con trailer what generated the loudest and most favorable response at the event? Perhaps they're just responding to that cue.

No, not really. Which isn't to suggest it didn't get a positive response, because it did. But so did just about everything else. People went crazy with the Zod stuff. The biggest reaction to anything in the trailer was Clark standing over the city, looking down. The questions weren't centered on Clois specifically. It was defintely addressed, but so were lots of things.

Thanks for giving me the perspective of someone who was there, Val. I think maybe I mistakenly got that impression because the first version of the trailer I saw was taped by a Cloiser? I just remember all that screaming. :) I knew the questions themselves were balanced, but I had it in my head that the audience was full of Cloisers.

Yeah, I'm right there with you on Chloe and Jor-El.

I am still looking forward to the premiere, and a couple other eps, but we'll have to see what kind of tone is set early on.
