I was too angry last night to write down all the reasons I didn't care for the episode, and now I don't have to. You said it all, and you said it so well. Thank you!

Her scene with Oliver, while a little frustrating and annoying, yes, did bring to light that these two characters now definitely share a similar moral code. And that's both enlightening and a little scary, quite frankly.

Exactly. Two murders congratulating themselves over a cup of coffee was how I put it on kryptonsite. I can't believe how many people there are perfectly fine with what happened here.

I don't even know if it's anger with me anymore this season, so much as it is utter frustration. Because on the one hand I should come to expect certain, standing flwas from the show, but on the other hand, it's easier said than done.

And very well put might I add, because that's exactly the kind of wierd, creepy, conspirational tone that scene took, for me too.

//it's the White Suit of Questionable Morality, donned by Lex in the vision of the Lexocalypse at the end of Hourglass, by Lionel when Mrs. Teague manuevered him out of prison, and by Oliver himself in that incredibly shady introductory episode known as Sneeze. If it means anything, it means that Oliver is still a shady mofo whose shady mofo-ness is mitigated by the fact that he's (allegedly) on the side of the angels ( ... )

//I don't think Lois lashed out because Clark didn't tell her specifically that Oliver tried to kill himself. She lashed out because he told her there wasn't anything wrong at all, even though there obviously was and even though she specifically asked if Oliver was okay. Clark didn't have to tell her that Oliver tried to kill himself. But he could have told her that Oliver was in a bad emotional place and that he needed the support of his friends (and that is more or less the question she asked at the farm -- is Oliver all right?). If he'd done that, I don't think she would have gotten mad that he didn't specifically tell her Oliver attempted suicide. He would have told her the truth -- that Oliver's hurting emotionally -- without divulging an actual secret (the suicide attempt) that wasn't his to tell ( ... )

And this would be why I refused to analyze this episode too much. I enjoyed it on a superficial level, and that's what I'm sticking to. We'll call my equivalent of sticking my fingers in my ears and going "La la la I can't hear you! Ooh, lights pretty!"

Heh, you know you may just be on to something there. Certainly helps avoid the headache/heartache aspect of it all.
