I agree with almost everything you say except the good bits worked for me a little better so I'll give this an A. FYI, preserve my sanity, I'm going to toss off the details of last week's episode and pretend that Ollie's rehab was more realistic (and Clark driven), so Ollie was trying to give back the favour and settled on Mia. Or something like that.
So, it sounds like you're driving in the middle lane with me. Lots of huge squeeeeing, and some hating. Not too many of us middle-of-the-roaders

//I like the actor playing Stuart. He brings a spark to the role.//
::nods:: I think one of the things this season has managed to get right is these recurring characters in Emil and Stuart. Now if only we could get MM back in the picture.
//I do think this ep played so, so much better then the sides//
Oh, yes. I'm so relieved about that. And very happy to be proven wrong about my initial reservations wrt the sides.
//I may have a lot of reservations about this ep, but it ranks above every episode this season except for Rabid. I just wish Clark had more screentime.//
'Rabid' is up there for me too. I think I might prefer 'Metallo' to 'Crossfire' though, but they both appeal in different ways I suppose.
//So glad that someone else thinks it's odd that Chloe of all people was giving romantic advice. All I could think about was the way she treated not!Jimmy last season. The Chlark dynamic is totally off for me and I don't know if there will ever be a way to redeem it enough to satisfy me.//
Yeah, at the moment the Chlark scenes continue to not work for me either. Not sure if things will continue in this vein though, later during the season.
I loved a lot of this episode. The Tess/Zod scenes were amazing, I was thrilled to see Chloe happy again, and I thought the Clark/Lois story was really cute and fun. I don't want romance to be the focus of Clark's life week in and week out, but I thought it was nicely done in Crossfire. I wasn't feeling the kiss all that much either, but I'm thrilled for all the shippers that thought it was perfect. That's what matters, I think, that the fans who wanted to see it most are pleased with it, and they obviously are.
I think Chloe is getting in over her head, but I have no idea if the show agrees. :)

Heh, no I definitely think that's a good approach, as far as SV is concerned.

I'd like to think it does, but then again this is SV we're talking about, heh. ;-)
