Another wonderful review!

With regard to the Chloe/Oliver relationship, I'm not on board at all for the same reason you state: why waste valuable screen time on something that's probably not going anywhere? Besides, that's potentially the type of storyline that will take the focus away from Clark when we still don't know if there'll be a season 10. But I guess they have to do something with Oliver, since he's on the show. I'd have sent him to Star City a long time ago. :) I hope that at least they forget his contrived mooning over Lois.

I liked Zatanna here a lot! I hope she comes back to interact with Clark again.

Thankyou. :-)

I'm hoping Zatanna returns too. I love what SS brings to the role.

Speaking of Chloe, I happened to genuinely enjoy her scenes in this ep too, probably the first time this whole season. The tone was set right from her first scene with Lois. Which was lovely. The two are happy and smiling in each others presence and are also able to share their thoughts and feelings with one another. It was a nice give-and-take, and something we haven't seen nearly enough of - so when we do, it's always welcome.
One of the mis-steps of this season, has to give Chloe & Lois so few scenes together - they were great in "Warrior'!

I also have to give kudos here to AM' direction. When given a better script, I am so pleased to see how well she did here. Some of the shot transitions and edits were masterfully done.
The initial tracking shot through the Com - with Green Arrows & Blurs walking by - was so perfectly done.

I think my asolutely favorite part of the ep though was`the fact tht the guest stars actually had interaction - significant interaction with Clark. I like Serinda Swann. I thought she did a fabulous ( ... )

I know. This is something I forgot to mention in my review, but I loved all the faux!GA and faux!RBB costumes. Just fun little touches that really addes to the ep.

I know, right!?

//Its probably one of my favorite scenes of S9 so far.//

::nods:: It's just quintissential Supes, right there.

//The last Lois and Clark scene is actually one of my favorites of the season. It felt very real, and both characters were endearing. Their doubts and insecurities feel understandable to me.//

Exactly. The ep not only did their relationship justice but also them, as individuals.

I agree with pretty much the whole review, so I'll tackle the smaller bits here:

Oliver was in this very briefly, and while I'll get to the final scene later, I liked the brief little, "oh, you're so going to get it" to Clark at the DP. Here was an instance, IMO, of good natured ribbing, as opposed to the 'ulterior-motive-carrying' kind or 'sob-boo-hoo-I-still-love-Lois' kind. I can handle this kind of Ollie. Like him, even.

Oh, so much agreement here. Justin does the good-natured poking fun scenes so well, I'm really surprised they don't give him more stuff in which he can just be a good guy friend to Clark.

I'm still not on board this potential pairing, I'll admit, most primarily because I think why waste time on something that is so ultimately pointless. The characters could be better served otherwise, IMO. But, I will keep an open mind about it, for further eps.I'll admit that the first reason I like them is purely shallow, but I do think there's potential for both characters to take something away from a relationship - ( ... )

I think it's because TIIC like "conflict." ::rolls eyes::

I hope you're right about Chlollie. And like I mentioned earlier, I will definitely try and keep an open mind about it. :-)

I agree with pretty much every word. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who liked this episode! I've seen a firestorm of criticism that leaves me baffled, but I loved Warrior. I think that makes me a confirmed Clark fan. Just as I suspected! :)

And when he tells Alec, "not because I have to, but because I choose to." This Alec / Clark scene is probably my favorite of the entire ep

This was my favorite as well. To hear Clark talk about his reasons for taking on the role of hero, and the challenges he faces and struggles to overcome, was an inspiration. And Tom's delivery of those lines took my breath away. He is Superman! I love this scene so much I want to marry it and have its babies. ♥

Naturally, Clark loved Lana dearly, but I thank the writers here for making Clark look smart by realizing and acknowledging the aforementioned turbulence of the past relationship.I appreciated so much that Clark mentioned this. That relationship lasted so long, and was such a huge part of his life, it didn't make sense for him to be ( ... )

I've been reading about this on other lj' and I'm totally baffled by this. I'm so oblivious to everything fandom, and have been for a while now (only sticking to my flist) that I don't get a sampling of what's going on outside. Which is a good thing, for the most part! Heh. But in this case, I am genuinely curious as to why it's getting ::so much:: criticism. I can understand maybe not liking something about it here or there, that's perfectly understandable, but a shitstorm? For an ep that at least tried its damned best to do justice to all the characters?

//And now we have good reasons for both of them to take their time, which is better all around, for the characters and the show.//

Definitely.

//I did think that scene was hot! :)//

For the first time ever I senses chemistry between these two, but I don't know - I mean I'm trying to keep an open mind and all but all I keep thinking is 'what's the point?'
