Ah yes, we find ourselves in agreement once again.

I very much enjoyed the Tess parts of this episode. Tess/Clark, Tess/Granny, Tess/fight scenes, Tess/alone. I liked the revelations, and I think CF did a great job with all the material.

But you're right. The episode still didn't seem to work, and I think thats mostly because the other side of the storyline was bad, and didn't mesh with the Tess/Granny stuff at all.

I think the perception of not a lot of Clark comes from the fact that he's missing for about about 8 minutes in the middle of the episode. And thats a very big hole.

Or the fact that a holographic image of his bio parents is suddenly supposed to make Clark, and us forget whatever shit the AI' pulled, thus far. WORD! I just fail to see how there's any connection at all ( ... )

Because now the pieces all fit together for me. Of course Lex would leave his empire behind for her, his sister - Lena Luthor. I'm choosing to skip Lutessa, heh. No, but yeah - her connection to the Luthors just clicked for me here, and I'm now glad they went this route.
I find Tess plausible as the result as the product of a Lionel hook-up....but I do wish the writers would plan their arcs out longterm! Both Lana & Regan implied in S8 that Lex & Tess had a sexual relationship.

I actually think it might have been best if this FOS part hadn't taken place at all. Clois could have had their first scene, followed by that lovely moment of Lois watching her mothers tape (a scene in which I thought both ED ad TH were very terrific), and then it could have been bookended by their scene at the very end. With all the Tess/GG/Furies taking place in between, being expanded a little. I think I would've liked the ep a lot more if it had gone this way.Me too. The Fortress scenes, Lois magically finding the key, it all seemed very rushed and ( ... )

Really? Shit, I completely forgot about that. What was said? Frankly, I bet the writers had no clue where they were going with Tess when they introduced her, let alone planning out an arc, culminating in the Luthor reveal - this is the SV writers we're talking about here, heh.
