Reading your summary of the Luthor family dynamics has given me a little bit of insight into Clark Luthor. Being a Luthor has given Clark an appetite for the machinations of Lionel's world and beliefs about power. Our Clark is so straightforward but Clark Luthor seems delighted by the games of betrayal and the risk of death as a result.
Plot wasn't the only thing the ep furthered along - as far as relationships go, I think Cless got a huge boost in this one, showing the extent to which their friendship has come along, actually.
Thank you for pointing this out because the only non-fluff I could see was the Tess/clone plot and Clark knowing Tess' secret. Wow! There was a lot of great relationship growth in this episode between Clark and Tess.
And first and foremost is the notion assumed by TPTB that Clark Kent, exempt from the Kents influence, will turn out to be a ruthless killer.Yes! I completely agree. What makes it worse for me is that I don't even think that they meant to explore Clark's character through Clark

Exactly. I found the whole thing fascinating.
//There was a lot of great relationship growth in this episode between Clark and Tess.//
I think this development is especially significant given that eventually something is bound to give, wrt the Tess-is-a-Luthor storyline. We ::needed:: to see the transition with Cless, therefore into something more than just a working relationship and an actual friendship instead. The stakes had to upped.
//Clark Luthor is completely unrelated to the real Clark so... his character just didn't say anything about the real Clark IMO.//
It really didn't. This whole aspect of the ep bothered me tremendously - the misteps wrt Clark' characterizations. Otherwise it'd be right up there with 'Ambush', my favorite of the season, thus far.
//Again, great review.//
Thankyou. I appreciated your comments and please feel free to drop by anytime. :-)
