//Glover did have great lines in this ep, didn’t he? I was really fond of of “You shot Martha Kent? Why would you do that, she seems like a perfectly lovely woman.” LMAO Just the way Glover said it was terrific.//
Heh - can't believe I forgot that one! JG just seemed as if he was having so much ::fun:: with the role this ep - loved it.
//Again, I think it comes down to the show trying to do too many storylines, and not doing any of them particular justice.//
Oh, absolutely. Way, way too many storylines going on this season, almost all half baked. Just shows TPTB's lack of focus, or perhaps misguided focus in the last season.
//Its like they put it there so Lois could be the contrast , the optimist having faith in the people. Which is all well and good, but really, I think that should be Clark.//
Exactly. And it's not like the saccharinely sweet cheerleader is particularly favorable to Lois either. So really, what are the writers thinking here?!
Agree with you on both reviews & glad to see you posting again!
Lionel was in fine form, and got some deliciously funny lines like, "reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated" and "I killed them in that world too, and I had very good reasons", and my favorite, "I liked to buy you presents" - all delivered superbly by JG. He's marvellous. I laughed so hard at those.
I loved that we got to hear him say how he's out there, every day, saving people (only wish we'd see more of it, too, but that's another matter), and I loved that his moral stance, something that should be unwavering, that was so woefully neglected in the last ep, was brought back front and center with his comeback on the Slade issue, and by going in and saving Lionel from the fire. His comment on the Slade issue really heartened me, especially after the Collateral VRA villains were left in the the virtual world as a "punishment."
Thankyou. :-) I've been kind of out of it, mostly due to RL madness, but also because I feel I just don't have the same enthusiasm for the show anymore, sadly. But I'm hanging in there for Clark/TW!

Just one of the many reasons 'Collateral' sucked the way it did.
Chloe - STFU. Lois - STFU. Clark - Why so stupid??! LMAO. Now there's a review I can get behind! And that's all I care to say about Collateral.
As for Beacon. So much better. Still not necessarily a great episode for Clark with all his doubting. But the guest stars were all great and written well. And Tess was back too!
Loved the little twist there at the end with the needle. It amped up one of the few arcs that actually has my attention this season.

Heh, I thought I'd go for the most gut reaction elicited first, and let's face it, it was a whole lotta STFU's in there.

The Luthors storyline shaped up very nicely in this one. I really want to know if Alexander=Connor Kent, though? As interested as I am in this arc, I'm not sure how I feel about that---
