[Magic!]

Will is an Old One. The closest definition we get of this in his canon is 'not quite human.' Will is recognisable to other Old Ones, agents of the Dark and the avatars of Wild Magic. If your character is sensitive magically, there's a good chance Will will ping them. I'd appreciate it if you could give me a head's up -- the other thing is that what ( Read more... )

SO UH. Fran's powers don't really. Have inherent morality per se; there's canon about how sorcerers come to see God as one power among many. I'm going to say a whole lot of Wild, possibly very subtlely touched by Dark given the Saraman destiny and the fact that he was raised by a damned man. Will will probably ping him for power but not for type of power per se.

Tara is Light, no question. She may or may do the enlightened random-knowledge thing for Will. Tara is complicated that way but also flexible.

I just felt to urge to comment.

And the first thing that came to mind for me when I was answering this was "MUKURO IS INVERSE PING OF TARA".

... I felt you should know :|b

Will probably won't ping Watari, since Watari's magic doesn't really work that way. Unless Will does something really noticeable, that is. As for the type of magic...I'm gonna say wild? Watari is a (very minor) god himself and while his magic/self is connected to death, it's more a neutral thing than anything evil or light. However! Watari is dead, so I don't know how or if that would ping.

Yozak probably doesn't apply! He's half-mazoku, which is the demon race, but has no magic of his own.

Cool. I think Watari and Yozak would both ping as wild, but nothing more than that necessarily. Thanks!

Sounds good to me! And I forgot to mention, as I always do, that 003 and crew will ping Will in the same way that Watari does, since he animated them.

Eeeeh Urd is uh. Half a Goddess Half a Demon no idea how that would ping but the Goddess side tends to be stronger.

Wild on both counts -- no demons in Will's canon, so! That was easy!

Zexion is a Nobody, and thus one of those 'rejected by both the dark and the light'. He's not above them the way wild magic is; if wild magic is the underlying force of nature and the universe, Zexion is the opposite -- something that should never have existed, anathema to the natural order of things.

Wild magic may be the closest thing to that in Will's experience, though.

Oooh, that's going to be interesting. Yes, Will will probably think wild then get totally thrown.

Hooooh.

Adam is the big and obvious one here. THE ANTICHRIST. So, I would guess, dark. Uhm. Also, you can or choose not to be pinged by him, but if you ARE pinged by him it's... gonna be a HUGE and MASSIVE PING of massiveness. As a heads up :Db

Haru, Akira, Laura and Dietrich don't have magic 8D.

Mukuro isn't necessarily magic, but he has 'skills' and has passed through Hell, literally. He's the antibuddhist in many respects, so if he does ping, Dark.

Yes, Adam is going to be interesting. God is addressed in The Dark is Rising, and while Susan Cooper is ambiguous, I think the implication is that religion is made by men. Closest thing to a Christ figure would be the Pendragon. However, Will is raised Anglican so! Interesting.

I'm pretty sure Laura would ping as wild because of being a mutant -- is that okay? And I'm not sure of the others canons, but I've got a feeling Dietrich might ping. Can you tell me more about him, please?

Thanks!

Fran filled me in on Dietrich's canon, so maybe not a ping after all -- would you say Dietrich feels human?

feel free to have Laura ping!

Dietrich is human and it's notable that he is given his position and what he does. The biosynthetic threads which he uses are I can't tell are strictly technology or other. It is said that it's "lost technology" and isn't mentioned as magic -- though as I type this I recall something about it being maybe a bit magical. Uhm. But he's human through and through? Psychicly for sure he's human? A BIT OF GREY TERRITORY but I think he won't ping.

If Laura pings, Haru will prolly ping too -- as halfs are sort of like mutants. Same sort of dealio in many ways.

Akira is human through and through.
