So, from the time I was very small I have wanted to be a doctor. Now.. two babies later and an education that has been sporadic I don't feel like I can commit myself to med school + residency after I graduate. Just before I got pregnant I was planning on starting new symester at the Radiology school in Dallas. I figured I had plenty of time because we were supposed to have major fertility problems and conceiving should not have been possible according to the urologist(sp?). Well I got pregnant in just 4 months of trying and never even got to start my classes! ALthough I am not complaining I wish I had gotten the education so financially we would be better off, ya know? But now we are back in Chicago and I have decided to become an LC and Doula because of the flexibility.
I think it's awesome you want to become a CNM! If I wouldn't have to start at the beginning right now it would be something I would consider.

Thank you. The way I see it, I'm still young (21) and may as well go for it. It's hard having so much on my plate, but when I think of the outcome I know it will be totally worth it. I think being a LC and Doula seems like it would be a great job to have. The LC at the hospital I gave birth at was a jack ass. I'm really lucky I had two babies that had no breastfeeding issues.
