You are right. These are Geese - they were pretty huge.

I wouldn't have know the difference either. While reading to Kavya I tell goose or duck only based on the caption;-) Sometimes she will correct me;-)

Though this place is in the heart of DC with a lot of tourists visting each day, it is still pretty quiet and peaceful.
