I'm still just as hopelessly unemployed as I was in my last entry, but for three weeks between then and now, I had the sweetest, most cheesy-ass, hilarious job I could ever hope to have, as a Photographer at GlamourShots. It was pretty humiliating taking a job in the mall after leaving the hotel with high hopes of finding something downtown (and ( Read more... )

That job sounds amazing. I would love to hear you tell these stories in person someday.

I'm over in Fremont now and am having a really hard time finding any jobs in this area...I'm still working at Gerber, but I may be laid off sometime soon.

Good luck in your job hunting!

Getting laid off sucks, but at least people are sympathetic to you when you get laid off, as opposed to when you get fired... not that that much matters when you're out of a job either way.

One of my former co-workers from GlamourShots recently got so desperate that she applied at McDonalds. They told her she was overqualified.

Aha, GlamourShots. All things considered, you did work there just the perfect amount of time to get a taste of commercial photography, collect some fabulous anecdotes, and, of course, be able to say you worked at GlamourShots whenever humorous-life-experience-cred is required.

Grandma was suggesting that you apply at this veterinary clinic that's hiring on our side of town, but I guess if you're looking for something downtown that's no good, eh? Mom said maybe she would apply but Grandma took offense at this and kept reiterating "That's Amber's thing! Amber loves animals!"

I do think I worked at GlamourShots for exactly the right length of time.

I told Mom she should apply at the Vet clinic, but she said she thought it would be better for me, haha. However, I need someone who gets the newspaper to find the ad and tell me if there's e-mail address to which I can send my resume. Going in there and filling out an application (if they have them) is not an option because of my handwriting. Also, if they had an ad in the paper, I don't really have a shot because there will be a ton of competition.
