So, a few years ago, Kyle and I came across some old (1940s and 50s) home recordings on acetate aluminum(?) disks at a Salvation Army store. I think "Mairzy Doats" is probably the song "Mares eat oats and Does eat oats and little lambs eat ivy, a kid'll eat ivy toowouldn't you?!" I remember singing that song in kindergarten.

Yep. AND: that recording was dated the year that song came out. Apparently, it was a very popular song at the time. Kind of like the "Soulja Boy" of 1943.

We had to sing that song in one of my choirs, we did this medley of songs that were popular around that time. That one always drove me NUTS.
