The thing that prevented me from trying to submit this to This American Life is the fact that I heard an episode about this very sort of thing, and they specifically said that they get a ton of submissions like this... so I thought I didn't stand a chance of them wanting to use my story because A, there's a bunch of competition, and B, they already made an episode like this somewhat recently. Maybe I still should though, even though I don't have enough time before my interview with the old ladies to get any kind of equipment from them.

Also, maybe I could take the records to Antiques Roadshow when I go this summer, because while I know the records aren't worth money, the story might be compelling enough that they'll put it on TV...

Um well for starters you could ask her what inspired these crazy recordings. Maybe ask her how it feels that someone found them and actually tracked her down haha? Hmm what else... I dunno, maybe ask her if she has done any other work in the recording industry since :P

Unfortunately, she kind of went from seeming eager to do the interview to not returning any of my e-mails. It was weird. I can only imagine that she googled my name and found my blogs regarding her and got freaked out or something. Either that, or she died? The last e-mail I got from her was the one postponing our interview because of some kind of medical problem. I wish I had a more satisfying end to that story.
