I'm very curious, does anyone still buy CDs and use a Hi-Fi system?
Me personally, I love having the pysical CD of an album. Lately, though, I haven't bought any as I've not enough space. That all is gonna change when i've sorted my room out. You never know when your Mac/PC will break down, right?

I got out my old stereo and cds last year. And gotten into buying cds again not just for my stereo, but digital downloads are costly and pirated downloads are risky. Second hand cds on the other hand, cheap as chips! If not cheaper than chips - depending on where you get your chips from...
Viva la compact disc!

Needless to say, I have tons of CDs to get, even though i have the digital download. I don't mind the cost, I get discount if I buy them from work!

Ah see my stereo is about 10 years old in april! (Wow) its a wonderful little thing that has aurvived two moves and being stuck in a damp cupboard for a couple of years. So id say, if youre going for a higi, go with an LG make. They seem to be the most hardy and long lasting.
I have a cheapish ipod dock for my ipod, which is Gear 4 (Street Party model) and thats not too shabby. The best part is that it doesnt take up much space and its foldable.

And I own a big old-fashioned but very fine hi-fi system. :)

It's also handy when all the CDs you imported into iTunes vanish, and then at least you can reimport them. Love that option!
(Except my Mac has no CD option, which means investing in a portable)

In the 90s, I had a HUGE collection of CDs. Now that I have more room, I might start a collection of them. I only have 2 right now plus I'm eyeing a pink boom box with a radio/cd player.

I still buy cd's - then upload them onto my iPod. Like what you said, you never know when the cd can come in handy. xx
