I am watching my 12 year old struggle through 7th grade, zits, wanting to belong, rejection - all the awkwardness and suffering of adolescence.  I miss all of you on my friends' list, and look in occasionally to see what is going on in your lives.  Mine is about work and motherhood, at the moment (or work and lose-your mindness

Hey, Goosegirl! What a treat to see you pop up on LJ. Kids grow up too damn fast, don't they. Mine is almost 6 feet. I have to go on tiptoes to give him a kiss. The facial hair, the body hair! The amount of food he consumes!

But I have to say that each stage is a delight. Mine is 15, btw. He's so full of deep, thinky thoughts now.

I get the work and kid totally consuming you thing. If I'm not working, helping with homework, dealing with the daily emotional adolescent crisis or doing laundry, I'm walking the dog, grocery shopping or cooking something.
