I went for a long walk yesterday up through the backwoods with Sparta and listened to a lecture Foucault gave at Stanford c.1979 and all I can say to that is - genealogy is the west river and archeology is the picture of 5 teenagers posing in a grain field at the turn of the century I saw in a bookstore today ( Read more... )

i love when you get god on me leon. it's so refreshing! and thank u for proving another point:

all the problems were talking about NOW are the same ones we were talking about in the Plaka 2500 years ago. so is the topic of conversation just that interesting/challenging? are were the greeks just 'that good.'

but is it merely a simple choice? is there something about the question itself that is inappropriately posed? can we just not 'not answer'?
