Yesterday - So I'm off work at 3pm, and approaching the steps to my apt at 3:05 and some rando is bent over Monika's bike (locked to the stairs) fiddling with the lock. I say 'what are you doing?' and he's surprised and you can tell he's panicking. I push 'Is this your bike?' To which he says 'no'. He asks if I'm the owner of the bike and I say ' ( Read more... )

Good job buddy. I wish hoping you were going to punch him in the face. I encourage that.

Both dudes were JDMckesque and therefore, could have wiped the floor with me had I tempted a combat of arms.

Besides, I don't want to forget Sugar Mountain. And neither do you buddy.

I'm pretty sure it was monika's first day (of first few days) out on the porch. She didn't want to have to carry it all the way up the stairs.

Now a piece of the key is stuck in the lock and it's just sitting there, awaiting big lock-clipper thingys.

Did you have your bike locked up on campus?

Once you get the lock fixed, it's definitely worth it to carry it up the stairs. That's what I did in Charlottetown, mostly because it was downtown and because my bike (and her bike, too) could be stripped really easily (quick release seat, front tire, etc.)

And yeah, my lock got cut the first day I took it on campus. Stupid wire lock! Although really, people who steal bikes professionally (?) can break mostly every kind of lock.

It's a cruel world out there...
