My god we watched that in German class last year, without subtitles. But even though I didn't know what on earth they were saying 60% of the time, it was one hell of an impactful movie.
That short scene where Inge begs the Hitler Youth commander to shoot her & then he shoots himself? Unforgettable.
hello! are you particularly fond of german movies? i like foreign cinema alot!
i'd add you now, but i am clueless as to how i am supposed to add a friend on lj. (all the friends i've added, added me first and i just clicked on the lj email thing which said 'add friend back'. very -.-", i know!)
Yes, I love foreign movies but German movies have a special place in my heart because I took the language for four years. :D (Dropped it because Barnard said 'don't', & also because I don't want to drag my ass down to Bishan two evenings a week.) Did you ever watch Goodbye Lenin?
ah i UTTERLY LOVED goodbye lenin - probably one of the most charming films ever! i think it provides a nice balance to so many other dead serious films on the same subject.
