Too much driving today.

I HATE driving. :P

In better news...Arsenal won today 3-0 against Blackburn Rovers... which moves us up to second place in the league.

What a waste! pennquelle November 27 2005, 02:09:35 UTC
That's just sad. Nice looking (told my husband that and he said he looks like a Neanderthal - jealousy is a terrible thing! :D), talented, had it all. Gotta wonder.

Yeah Penn, a real shame.
I'm afraid I can't bring myself to have any sympathy for him as a person. 3 years ago he was given a new liver and told if he drank again he would die.
He stayed on the wagon for a couple of years but then started drinking again, eventually leading to Friday's outcome.
So essentially he was given a second chance in life and chose to throw it away... that liver he was given could have gone to someone else in need, maybe saved a life that wouldn't then have wasted it.
So no, I can't feel sympathy for him.
But I can celebrate how great he was in his prime and mourn the waste of a sporting genius. :)

Oh, and you can tell your husband that George used to be known as the 5th Beatle back in his pomp. :D

Yow, he really was gorgeous!! :D

Liver transplants usually aren't approved for people with alcoholism, because it is such a difficult disease to get over. I tend to hold people accountable for the choices they make in life, but if you think of alcoholism as a disease and not just a choice, it's easier to be somewhat sympathetic. I struggle to see those illnesses that we bring on ourselves in the same light as those that strike through no known cause. But, alcoholism is a terrible way to live your life and a horrible death. So, I feel sorry for him. He can't have been happy if he was willing to waste what he had.

Well, he always insisted that he loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest.
So who knows...
I suspect he got a new liver due to him having lots of money... :/

At the West Ham vs Manchester United match today (George played for Man Utd), they held a one minute Applause rather than a one minute silence. :)
I think that's a better way to go.
