:D I hope when they make the film they don't dilute it down too much. My worry is that will be too conscious of the fact that little kids will be seeing it and they will cut out some of the more upsetting things like Hedwig. Hopefully not as the last film was quite dark and scary in places (it scared me anyway :D ), but I hope they keep some of the more angsty stuff in. Sod it, make it an 18... the kiddies can see it when they grow up. :D
I think HBP is scheduled for release November next year and DH in 2010. Can't wait. :) I think I'll make a point of watching all the films again, just to wind up the tension. :P
I just realised...whatever happened to Barty Crouch Jr? I was looking forward to seeing David Tennant again! :(
Yay! So glad you liked it Gorby. :) I keep picturing the kickarse preview of the film, ending with Harry's "I am about to die". OH THE ANGST!
Hedwig - I don't think anyone expected her to go, least of all so quickly. That was a shock that made me think JK was dead serious about this war - anyone could go next. Yow. I reckon they'll keep it in the movie because it'll be cinematic gold, they'll look like pussies if they don't.
Agree about the delay in the middle - did it really take them that long to do something? Anything? How could Hermione take so long to pick up the clue in the book? Expect that'll be cropped muchly in the movie.
Barty Crouch got offed by Dementors in PoA, dammit. Tennant rawks.
I think most of us thought Neville would off Bella, but maybe JK didn't want him to be a killer. Go Molly!
I don't remember Barty C getting offed...I thought he was just carted off to Azkhaban. But he never appears again in the books. Still, Pearl's right... DT is better off saving the world in excellent episodes like Blink. :D
Yeah they could've gone to Godric's Hollow a lot sooner IMO.
Barty's death didn't happen 'onstage', but his soul was sucked out by a Dementor because it was ordered by Fudge. McGonagall was pissed about it, because it meant there was no evidence to show Sirius was innocent.
Which, of course, means that Barty isn't necessarily dead, just soul-less. Lupin makes much about the Dementor's Kiss being "worse than death", that you can survive without your soul, but you just -- exist. Whether he ends up existing in Azkaban or somewhere else, I don't believe is ever mentioned...
Hewene (a know-it-all, too, only not as much as Peachy...)
Gorbie!!! :-D I gotta say, I agree with pretty much everything you've said. I'm torn between PoA and DH as my favorite, but the more I digest DH, the more I'm leaning towards that one as my favorite
( ... )
I wouldn't exactly agree that JKR is a fabulous writer, but I would say she is a fabulous story teller. :) If you get my meaning. RE: Snape, I can't think of any other reason for him to ask Harry to look at him before he dies... UNLESS... He has transplanted his consciousness into Harry's head, a la Spock and Dr McCoy. :D Actually that's probably why Harry makes a big thing of saying how brave Snape was 19 years later :D It was Snape talking.
That is really helpful. It provided me a number of ideas and I'll be placing them on my web site eventually. I'm bookmarking your blog and I'll be back. Thanks again!
