It's clear you see the folly in the situation -- do what's right! Take care of, and believe in, your own self. You'll thank you for it.
Wow wow wow.

Your feelings (unless you have a severe mental disorder) are ALWAYS valid. You may not always be in a place where you can give them free reign, but accepting them for who you are, and understanding their validity is the epitome of mental health for the rest of us.
The less someone understands that, the less you need to be concerned about them.

I always know where I am.
For wherever I go, there I am.
Other people may lose track of me
Or not understand me
And many times I discover I did not understand my own self.
But I am never lost,
I am misunderstood - at times - by everyone, anyone, and me.
This can cause confusion
And often does.
It can cause mistakes,
And often does.
It doesn't mean I am lost,
But rather that I am just not where I, or anyone
May expect me to be.
When you are inside the maze,
You don't often get to see the complete picture.
Hindsight is often 20/20 but that doesn't make it right.
When you see the entire picture
From the outside
You still may be confused even though you
May have more, visible, facts.
Make no mistake about it,
Confusion is a part of daily life.
Minimizing the confusion is a daily battle
That one must do in order to do more than
Just survive.
But
I am never lost.
I always know where I am.
For wherever I go, there I am.
