"All right, change of plans."
"Again, Mia?" Jessica asks, fortunately with good humor.
"Trust me, this is a good one. We won't need any weapons since Tom will be opening the door for us."
"Oh, we remember Tom!" Nall squeaks, and Alex nodded in agreement.
"Then what's Axel gonna do?" Kyle asks, sword still slung over his shoulder. And thankfully wearing pants.
"He's going to provide some entertainment for the reception," she says simply.
"It sounds like everything is planned out, dear," Lemia says to her daughter. "Perhaps you shouldn't be so wound up."
Jessica adds, "As your matron of honor, I agree." Though it was clearly hard for her to hide her excitement.
"You're right," Mia admits. "And right now, there's not really anything to do but wait."
"That's a good idea," Luna agrees in her melodic voice. "We want you to be able to enjoy it."
"It's easier to do that when you're calm," Nash pipes up, tilting a hat on his head.
"By the way," Mia asks, distracted, "Where did you get that hat? I've never seen one like that before."
Nash smirks and says, "I got it especially for the ceremony. Even had it modified so it wouldn't mess with my hair."
And it was true: a half-circle was cut from the brim in the front of the hat so it looked more like a shaving basin, allowing Nash to wear it without crushing his pompadour.
It just made Mia giggle.
Nash looks a bit crestfallen and says, "I guess there's no accounting for good taste."
"Sure there is," Jessica quips. "There's just no accounting for your taste."
And so the assembled party continued in this way, chatting as they waited for the groom and the rest of their company.
