Today at work the hard drive in an old 386 in our central office died. All this machine does is provide what I assume is a few glorified serial connections (X.25 perhaps?) to our EWSD phone switch so the CO guys can monitor alarms and send commands to it ( Read more... )

I think I took absent mindedness to a whole new level this morning. I walked in to the garage to warm up my car before I headed to work, and the spot where my car normally sits was empty. Our tape drive died at work this week, and I had to stay after work this evening replacing it. I was pacing around while a test was running and walked by muerte's server and noticed that his CPU fan wasn't spinning. I decided to help him out and replace the fan:

Like everybody else seems to be, I'm dumbfounded about why the majority voted for Bush. I don't understand how people can think that he's the right man for the job, and that he's leading our county in the right direction.
