Well, because I have too much free time on my hands (between working 60 hours per week, training for the 1/2 marathon, being a dad, being leader of a huge cubscout den, bicycle training, and learning the guitar) I decided to put together a website for my brother's band.  In case you missed the story I've been appointed Sound Czar -- like other Czar ( Read more... )

Cool! Honestly, I know nothing about web design or how to critique. I am, however, your regular average Joe who browses the web and I can say this site is one of the best band sites I've seen. It is simple, to the point, but not too plain. It isn't cluttered with ads and flash, and the color scheme is perfect. I really like it.

You know, waaay back in the day at the grove I ended up doing sound work because of the nature of the gig. I got conscripted to be the DJ for Wednesday nights, and the previous DJ took (stole) the DJ equipment when he left so I was left with a stack of sound processors, a big mackie board, and two CD changers.

The sound dudes were cool enough that they showed me the ropes, and I learned a metric boatload. Like.. how not to blow the subs every week on "Pussy Control". :) Anyway, I'm sure it's all changed about a billion times since then, bad dang it was fun! The most fun was when we had the "full rig" on Wednesday because Jackyl was playing on Thursday. 210,000 watts with the full concert load out. I managed not to blow anything and still rattled people's teeth.
