Thanks to Gorillaz fans coxonsglasses for sending in the following story:-
At around 5pm GMT today, NME.com posted a news item about a guest DJ slot Damon is due to play on BBC Radio 1 on January 14th (the DJ slot was previously announced, but the Gorillaz-related information was new to this NME.com post). According to the NME.com news item, Damon will play 'a host' of new Gorillaz songs, which are currently in demo form and "80 per cent finished", as part of his DJ set. Additionally, the set will feature "guest appearance from the Gorillaz' bandmembers, who include Murdoc Niccals 2D, Russel Hobbs and Noodle"
However, at around 5:45pm GMT, the story was pulled from the site without explanation. Fortunately a poster on the Blur forums saved the whole text, and you can read it by clicking 'Read More' below. Some other sites copied the NME.com story quickly and at least one still has its version of the story up (see the post on Yahoo
here, thanks orion!).
Damon's DJ set will air on Radio 1 next week from 7pm-9pm GMT. You can listen to it live on the web on the BBC Radio 1 site
here.
