Ganked from curtimack

I was born in 1975 and that year, the car that was chosen the "Best car in Spain" by ABC newspaper was the Simca 1200, known elsewhere as the Simca 1100 or the Simca 1204. Yes, a car created in 1968 in France was Spain's best in 1975. Allpar has a great article about this car and its relationship with Chrysler.

This car came and went quickly. The Chrysler/Plymouth sales group went with the ill-fated Cricket (Hillman Avenger). Dodge went with the Mitsubishi-sourced Colt. I always liked the little Colt coupes of the early to mid 1970s ")

A neighbor and friend of my parents was an engineer for Chrysler at the Newark Delaware assembly plant. He had a couple of Simcas - the first I remember was the rear engine model that preceded this car (the one that looked like a Renault 8/10). Next, he had one of these Xavi shows us here. Both were a shade of white-beige for some reason...

The simca with the engine behind was known here as Simca 1000. One of my mother's uncle was a mechanic at the Simca (then Talbot then Peugeot) dealer in Ponferrada and owned one for those for 350000 km and 35 years. I begged him to give me that car (it was the 900 cc version) but he didn't do it :(
