I finally got my visit to the Gastric specialist about my anemia. She was a nice middle-aged woman who poked my anus (I have a fistula there which will have to be taken care of) and decided that, since nothing explains why someone presumably healthy as me is anemic, I'm going to get two tubes inserterted at both ends of my digestive tract. Hehe, they have entered as a healthcare private insurer. Private carriers here just complement the public system (they seldom perform complicated stuff such as transplants) but seeing the horror stories from friends like you from this people made me quite nervous.

Here there is a serious campaign to discredit our public healthcare and pension system (which are under the umbrella of Social Security). Some politicians "advise" that it'd be better to "complement" both systems with an additional private healthcare insurance and pension plans (think HMO and 401k). I belong to the school that thinks that all the money in a single place for the benefit of society is far better than lots of money in different places. Call me old fashioned.
