I knew Seat made versions of the Fiat 850 (you made me aware of that...) and the 131, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised to learn there was a version of the 124.
I thought the Lada was the only other version. For what it's worth, while the 124 wasn't all that popular in the US during the 70's. But I have lived nearly all my life within a short distance of some portion of US Interstate 95, the main North-South route along the east coast of the USA. In the 80's you would see Canadian-spec Ladas (they were never sold in the US) zipping along the highway towards Florida. I guess the Ladas and their owners were escaping the frigid Canadian climate.

I remember to have been driven in a station wagon as a child. Their trasmission had a specific pitch that was unmistakable!
