It seems I can't even take a nap without the world coming down around us. As your boatswain, I should probably have some great advice that will give us hope and a plan to save our captain, yeah? Actually, no. We listen to the captain and don't get in the way of her decisions. You all know that a captain is responsible for her ship, so I'm a bit ( Read more... )

optimism is a funny thing, the rest of the crew is immature, serious post the hell?, being responsible for once

Uh. I think Kefka has something that's gonna make us all happier.

I think he found the bomber/poisoner.

Of course! I'm positive the government is going to give up their chance to have the captain of the 4423 behind bars just because one of our crew members say he's found the true culprit.

Glad we no longer have to worry.

I guess I haven't been here long enough, then, 'cause it still isn't right to me.

I'm sure that some of us are a bit more sensitive to these kinds of things, and there's nothing wrong with that. I was just reminding everyone that we are on a pirate ship, and the word of our captain is law.

I'm going to miss our captain, but I trust her judgment. That, and she's too stubborn to change her mind, so why bother hassling her?

I understand. It's idiotic.

A crew is responsible for their crewmates. As far as I'm concerned, that's what she is. I'm not about to let my crewmate sacrifice herself for something that won't even work.

She's not simply a crewmate, she is your captain. Good captains do sacrifice themselves for their ships. Just because she is young, we should not discredit her position or judgment. We can mourn, yes, but we can still use our time for something constructive. Maybe even find a way to help her. We all know she is not going to give into our complaining.

I understand your feelings, I do. I'll miss our captain as well. I wish she did not decide to become a martyr for our sakes, but it is what she has chosen.

I don't care how young she is, or what her position is! This isn't about patronizing her, or belittling this, it just won't work! You seriously think they're gonna give up the rest of us just to have her? She'll only whet their appetites.

If they aren't going to accept the captain in our stead, do you think they'll ever accept anyone else? It's the only chance we have. If it doesn't work, we'll all join her in the prison, which is what will happen anyway.

What is your idea? I'm open to suggestions.
