Cinderblock doesn't really hold fasteners well. It cracks too easy. If you need some sort of base anchor for a pole and you want to use the cinderblocks I'd try filling the block with concrete around the base of the pole. Put a sleeve on the pole when you stick it into the wet concrete (a thick plastic bag would do it) and you will be able to pull it out, leaving a perfectly sized hole in the concrete. If you go 2 blocks high that would probably be stable.
word. I actually realized another problem in that cinderblocks don't have a wide enough bottom to prevent tipping from, say, a size 1 soccerball hitting a net at velocity and knocking the thing over. A secure wider base with the cinderblock as weight should fix that up nicely.
I'd really consider a sledgehammer and a pipe you can beat into the ground wherever you want to plant this goal. Just get a pipe slightly wider than the post and hammer it down 2' or so into the ground, then drop the post into it. When you're done pull it out and go about your business. It would leave a small hole but I don't think it would be really noticeable.

Also, with the base plan we can move indoors and play in the winter too. Which is appealing.
