I watched a matinee of the new James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, this afternoon. All in all, it was an enjoyable hour and forty-five minutes; I do, however, regret disregarding my impulse to rewatch Casino Royale before heading to the theatre. Thanks for the review. I took in Mahr's 'Religulous' a couple of evenings ago and found it pretty good. For the most part, he poses the questions and lets those he interviews dig their own holes. There is one very amusing sequence outside the Vatican with a crusty, salty priest whose cheerful, honest irreverence is hysterical, inserted as it is amidst a steady stream of delusion, willful igorance, guile, and overt hostility born of insecurity. I got the strong feeling though that the vast majority of the movie was a setup for what Mahr really wanted to say, a final 5-minute segment pasted non-too-smoothly onto the preceding 85 minutes or so, the message of which was "grow up or die".

Also watched 'W'--a surprisingly compassionate take on Mr. Bush. It were'nt bad...
