I wrote this one in high school. It's not as good as Dylan Thomas, Emily Dickinson, or even Robert Frost. The different poets I quoted earlier, but I like it.
As I walk by the glistening sea, I remember how our love used to be You rushed in my heart like the ocean's tide My love for you could never subside.
I will never forget when we kissed, It was with so much tenderness, I felt as if I was swept away To another time, another place.
Then one day something changed All your thoughts were rearranged You said goodbye and sailed away How did I know you couldn't stay
Here I wait one the sand Looking out toward distant lands I have my memories to comfort me They will last for all eternity.
