Drawing out the process

Slightly more information about my job progress today . . . I got the call from the HR lady, Kelly, today and set a meeting with her for when I got off work this evening. Went and met with her expecting to leave with some sort of feeling of certainty, if not an offer. No dice. It was yet another interview. It seems that Kelly decided that since ( Read more... )

God, I hate HR people, especially when looking for a job. They rarely know anything about the actual business and aren't going to have anything to do with your actual job, but they've been thrown in as another layer of pointless bureaucracy. I've heard far too often of people going in for 3 or 4 sets of interviews and still not having an offer yet simply because they had to run through X number of interviews with HR and various other departments ( ... )

My company does 3 rounds of interviews, at a minimum, and then usually has a 2 week waiting period before they call back... and apparently that is pretty common, because some of my friends who left went through a 4-6 week interview process with the companies they left for as well. Hopefully you're will be more of a 2-3 week process. =)

As for interview questions, while Jean is more of an expert on this, that seems like a very typcial interview question. I know I always get two or three situational ones, combined with "tell us about a time you overcame conflict in your workplace" or something along those lines.

1. Good luck with the job! It sounds like you're at least moving in the right direction.
2. You have me intrigued with the hair color...
3. I'm sorry to hear that the hubby will have to be gone so long. That's a hella long time. I'm sure you'll make it work.
