It's funny you should phrase it like that. My wife just sold an old phone for $50.
What a fortuitous coincidence.
And yeah, I have not played RIFTS in years, but I did in fact play for years and had so much fun. These guys are hurting and I have the 50 clams, so it's all good.
I guess even just buying something "small", like an issue of The Rifter, is a help. They are humped.
I'm very curious about what exactly sparked this. There's a lot of vague talk about "treachery" that spooks me out a little bit... kinda makes me think of Tom Cruise jumping up and down on Oprah's couch, honestly.
I'm torn. On the one hand, I want to support the industry in general and I bear Kevin S. no ill will. On the other hand, I don't know what the heck is really going on at Palladium, I don't have $50 extra laying around, and the last time I picked up an edition of Rifts (1994?) it was so rife with typos, contradictory information, and awful prose that I thought it was cobbled together by a gang of middle school students with an art budget.

Ah, the magic of Palladium Games. But seriously, I know they're not for everyone. But they are, or at least were, for me. I'm not actually exhorting anyone to give money they don't have, I just wanted to get the word out.
As for me: When we have been down in our lives before, there's usually been someone willing to reach down and give us a hand back up. Palladium is down. I happen to be up these days. Easy math, my friend. ;)
And if Palladium goes away, who will teach future generations of gamers that the only way to stop a Giant Robot is with a Bigger Giant Robot? Who, I ask you? Who?

On the one hand, I should because I'm not a Palladium hater, and I honestly wish them well.
On the other hand, I'm just not that into them anymore. I dunno. Lets see if an extra $50 or something falls out of the sky...
